Take Your Rules With You: FinalPlace's Cross-Device Migration Solution

What’s the first thing you do when getting a new computer?

Most people say: install software, move files. But for FinalPlace users, there’s something equally important - migrating your carefully configured organization rules to the new device.

Today, let’s talk about FinalPlace’s cross-device rule migration solution.

Xiao Ming is a power user of FinalPlace. His rule configuration looks like this:

  • WeChat files automatically classified to D:\Work\IM\WeChat\Year-Month folder
  • Screenshots automatically renamed to Screenshot_20260329_143052.png and moved to D:\Screenshots
  • Downloaded compressed files automatically extracted to the same directory

This rule set took him two afternoons of fine-tuning. When switching to a new computer, his biggest worry was: will these rules still work?

The answer: Of course, and it’s simple.

We’ve designed a complete cross-device migration mechanism to ensure your rules “follow you”:

1. Cloud Rule Library: Your Rules Safely Backed Up

Section titled “1. Cloud Rule Library: Your Rules Safely Backed Up”

FinalPlace uses a “template and instance separation” architecture:

  • Cloud stores rule “blueprints”: condition configuration, action chains, priority and other logical information
  • Local binding path switches: specific monitoring directories, enabled status and other device-related configurations

After logging into your account on the new device:

  • Cloud rules automatically download
  • Local bindings need simple reconfiguration (select directories)

Share your verified rules with others, or import rules created by the community. Stand on the shoulders of giants.

Our commitment: Your organization rules are your digital assets, and they should follow you.

FinalPlace - let every file find its correct home.
