Security and Privacy Commitment: How FinalPlace Protects Your Files

In the digital age, files are our work achievements, memory archives, and the crystallization of our efforts. FinalPlace deeply understands this and makes “data sovereignty” the first principle of our product.

FinalPlace’s core engine runs on your computer, with all file operations completed locally:

  • Zero Cloud Transmission - File content is never uploaded to any server
  • Zero Privacy Collection - No collection of filenames, file content, or file location information
  • Zero Tracking Mechanisms - No tracking or behavioral analytics included

We understand that cross-drive file moving is a high-risk operation, so we’ve implemented the Safe-Move Protocol:

  1. Copy - First completely copy the file to the target location
  2. Verify - Verify file integrity (size, hash)
  3. Delete - Only delete the source file after verification passes

If any step fails, the original file remains completely intact.

Automatically detect ~$ and .~lock temporary files, avoiding damage caused by moving files during editing.

Automatically identify files being downloaded (browser temporary naming, download tool chunked files), ensuring they’re processed only after download completes.

Detect if files are being used by other programs (being edited, being compressed, being scanned by antivirus software), avoiding conflicts.

LRU circuit breaker mechanism prevents rules from repeatedly triggering the same file in a short time, avoiding circular moves.

System directories like C:\Windows and C:\Program Files are prohibited from operations by default.

FinalPlace records every file operation, and you can anytime:

  • Single Undo - Restore files to their state before the last operation
  • Batch Undo - Batch rollback by operation session
  • View History - View complete operation logs

Free users only have Index 0 (the first rule) active, ensuring core experience while preventing mass file moves caused by misoperations.

When integrating through the MCP protocol, all file operations have workspace boundary verification. You can set the directory range where rules take effect, and FinalPlace won’t operate beyond those boundaries.

Our Commitment: FinalPlace is a quiet file caretaker that works silently, never oversteps, and can be reverted anytime. When you need it, it’s there; when you don’t, it waits quietly in the background.
